Ovie Fyffe

Ovie Fyffe, 86 of South Shore, KY. passed Away April 1, 2024 at Ashland Community Hospice in Ashland, KY., peacefully with his grandson, Kody, by his side. He was born October 28, 1937 in Morgan County, KY., a son of the late Newton “Newt” and Susie Elswick Fyffe.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Wilma Jean Craycraft Fyffe whom he married on July 15, 1958; two daughters, Melinda Fyffe and Sherri Fyffe; one son, Todd Fyffe; one grandson, James Travis Bowling; three brothers, Virgil Fyffe, Bill Junior Fyffe, Charles Ray Fyffe; four sisters, Rhenda “Ruie” Earwood, Alma Williams, Ellaree Lintz and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Marie Fyffe; three, brothers-in-laws, Ralph, Lawerence and David.

Ovie retired from the South Shore, Brickyard in 1992. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren, dearly. He loved hunting, fishing and raising a garden. As a hobby he loved to collect and trade knives, guns, coins, guitars and whatever else he could make a dollar on. Him and Wilma were longtime members of the Church of Christ in South Shore, KY. He has cherished a lot of great memories with his wife and grandchildren.

Surviving are his two grandchildren, Kody (Jessica) Bowling and Jonathan (Ashley Malott) Wiseman both of South Shore, KY; six great grandchildren, Casen Bowling, Britton Bowling, Seth Sprague, Joey Sprague, Bradley Wiseman, and Hunter Wiseman all of South Shore, KY; several other nieces, nephews, many loving friends , family and close brothers and sisters in Christ that will sadly miss him but cherish all their great memories together.

Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Roy Runyon officiating. Burial will follow at MT Zion Cemetery in South Shore, KY. Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
